Today we had no classes as the school was preparing for its Grand Opening of the new school, even though it’s been open for 3 weeks already for my classes!
We had to rsvp to say whether we were coming, but when we arrived at the school our names weren’t on the list of attendees which was annoying. We managed to get in anyway.
There was plenty of free-flowing champagne and the kitchens on floors 1, 2 and 3 were each showing different delicacies, both sweet and savoury.
I had some lovely hors d’oeuvres, particularly the foie gras, some wonderful shots of soup, macaroons, ice cream, pate de fruits (a soft fruit jelly) and some wonderful chocolates, all made by the chefs and some of the more advanced students at Cordon Bleu.
On the 4th floor was the official event, attended by the VIPs and only by them, as we weren’t allowed up there. So we just pay for it in our quite considerable fees but weren’t allowed to attend. Hmmmm.
